I received an ARC from author for an Honest Review

I was having a difficult time getting through the first part of the book. I felt that is was dragging, and that are main female character was whining a lot, but about half way it was very eye opening and enjoyable.

This is why:
I enjoy Penny’s story and the growth she has made since the first book, but I become very frustrated with her low self-worth. She was hurt and betrayed by the love of her life, Evan; and, her best friend, Rosie. It must have been difficult to realize that she had no one in her life she could trust.

There were times I was having difficulty with her going back-and-forth between Jay and Evan.  I guess we have a Bella again on our hands. I wish she wasn’t so wishy washy with her heart between Evan and Jay.PictureExamples:
“…I was supposed to be visiting my kind of new boyfriend, but was actually spending the day with another guy – who shared the same name as my soul mate.”

“I don’t know what place he has in my future. I know that’s not fair for you to hear but I do know what place you have. And that’s here.”

“I would always love Evan and I did want him in my life. Even though we were in a relationship, we were also best friends. In a lot of ways out relationship was more of a solid friendship than anything.”
She has the most difficulties time picking a man, and sticking with it. I guess it makes since though. She allows others to make many of her decisions and is very easy going. Penny isn’t about confrontation. Many times she tries to avoid it at all cost. When Penny stands up for herself against her parents that was a breakthrough for her. She was standing up for herself. Bravo girl. Stick it to the man.

I am glad she in finally making choices that will not only strengthen her as an individual person, but choices that will help her in future relationships.
I don’t know how much longer she and Jay could carry on their romance from afar. I mean Australia to L.A isn’t that easy of a journey.

Side Note
Okay Kathren, I am going to be frank! What the heck. I seriously thought I knew who stabbed who & which guy would win her heart.
Now I am ALL messed up. Not only did you throw a massive curve ball in there, but you also now have made me split my Team Jay and Team Evan. I thought I would be all theway Team Jay, but now I am not so sure.

From the earliest age I was a born storyteller.

Ask my parents and they will tell you I had a gift for making a simple event seem like an elaborate one. It was my imaginary world that initially led me to believe I wanted to be an actor. However, after becoming quite uncomfortable with the limelight – it quickly saw that dream diminish.
Years later, I am a wife, mother of two young boys and sometimes hockey wag ;). When I am not busy being one of those three things, I work Monday to Friday, read a novel a night, love fitness and try to find the time to write. “
