On the evening of Sofia Claremont’s seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake.
A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood.
She is kidnapped to an island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine.
Sofia’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn when she is the one selected out of hundreds of girls to join the harem of Derek Novak, the dark royal Prince.
Despite his addiction to power and obsessive thirst for her blood, Sofia soon realizes that the safest place on the island is within his quarters, and she must do all within her power to win him over if she is to survive even one more night.
Will she succeed? …or is she destined to the same fate that all other girls have met at the hands of the Novaks?
My Synopsis Over View
Their bound becomes strong, but is Sophia truly happy with her new life? Can she be content living in complete darkness as a Vampire Prince’s Slave? Or does her heart and desire for Ben still yearn within her?
It is a place that is always night, because a witch cast a spell on the island to allow a clan of Vampires to live there. This Clan is ruled by a family called Novak. With a father, daughter and 2 sons; but, one of the Princes is the most feared and respected, Derek.
Derek awakes from slumber after 400 years. The Shades, which is created and over saw was thriving. His sister Vivienne, the clan’s seer and his brother Lucas have made improvements and brought about some changes to the island’s way of living. One thing that they brought about was human slavery. When Derek awakes, he was given a gift of 5 young women all around the age of 18.
Okay, nerd moment. I love the name Derek for a character cause I think of the movie “The Swan Princess” because the prince’s name was Derek.
I really liked the story. I caught my attention by the second chapter. I give every book about 50 pages before I put it down and say “not for me”; but, I was pleasantly surprised. I did think Sophia was being a little stupid, but that is what you get for a 17 year old whose mother that is crazy, and an absentee father. Derek, “Swoon Alert.” He is actually super sweet. I mean, he stands up for Sophia, he treats her kind – after he gets spoken to by the witch – and he lets her go. Yes we have a Beauty and the Beast moment here. I mean how many times do we have the tormented, overbearing, hard-head Alpha let the women he is in love, just walk away from him. Hmmm, that all seems too familiar, like from our favorite Disney Princess. The true version, is a little creeper and darker, but I digress.
I was torn up, I wanted Sophia to stay with Derek, but at the same time I wanted him to let her go. It would mean that much more if she decides comes back to him on her own terms. We will have to wait and see.
Do I think you should read it! Yes! For a few reasons.
1) It is YA Paranormal and those are always fun.
2) It is only .99 on Amazon or you can get it on KU (kindle Unlimited)
3) Derek – need I say more.
