The Selection By Kiera Cass (Selection 1)

For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in a palace and compete for the heart of gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn’t want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she’s made for herself—and realizes that the life she’s always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined.

I love this series! I cannot tell you how much. I have read and reread it so many times I can’t count. I own them all on my eReader. Combine Divergent from Veronica Roth and the TV Show The Bachelor from ABC.
America Singer all dolled up.

The Selection is: 35 Girls are chosen to try to win Prince Maxon, of Illea’s, heart and become the next future queen. America, a fiery red head,  didn’t want to put her name into the selection, but with the insistence of her family she fills out the application. She was born and raised in was from a lower caste, pretty much meaning she was poor.
America was chosen for The Selection. She wasn’t looking forward to going and being away from her family. She was also leaving her heart behind with her ex-boyfriend, Aspen. Once she got to the castle she did everything in her power to stay as long as possible for the money, but to not be chosen as a love interested from the Prince.Maxon has never dated and his first experiences are in front of his entire country. 35 girls between the age of 16-19. Every teenage boys dream. Well kind-of. As the only child and heir to the throne he is dealt with many responsibilities. He has his own secrets that he doesn’t share with anyone, until he feels the comfort and friendship from a certain redhead he meets on the first night of the selection. From that moment on he couldn’t get her out of his mind. After the short, but dramatic encounter with Prince Maxon, America and him become good friends.  They confide in each other and seek one another company. He wants her to help him learn how to woo a girl. The more time they spend with one another the more America’s hear becomes torn. Should she leave and go back to her family or should she stay and try to win the heart of a Prince?

America is awesome. She stands up for herself. Even when other girls are cruel to her and try to make her look bad, she still sticks up for what she knows is right. I love the relationship she has with her sister May.Maxon is amazing. He is the ‘perfect gentlemen.’ If you begin this book, you will not be able to put it down.
